Wundalismus

Wundalismus began in 2023 as a need to be visible without screens. In a time where social media has become the biggest way for artists to show their work, I felt the urge to move away from pixels and return to physical presence. Drawn to street art but unwilling to occupy the territory of illegality or secrecy, I searched for a language that could exist openly, honestly, and without violence toward public space. Chalk became that language. Ephemeral, fragile, and child-like, chalk allows me to intervene in the street without claiming it. The drawings exist temporarily, blurring the line between gallery and street. The pavement becomes an exhibition space, and everyday life becomes the audience. The drawings are made whenever inspiration surges, often in daylight, without disguise and in front of passerbys, the act itself becomes a performance. The remaining work goes further, making a brief appearance in people’s lives, interrupting routine, softening monotony, and offering a moment of curiosity or quiet inspiration before disappearing again. To go full circle, social media got integrated back into the practice: selected chalks get posted in the form of stories that, like the real thing, vanish after a short period of time. Wundalismus is an assertion of presence that accepts disappearance, a practice rooted in vulnerability, boredom, and spontaneous inspiration.
